WWII Exhibit Opens at Aviation Museum

The history of the Essex and Middle River area is being celebrated on Saturday, May 12 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum with the opening of the museum's new exhibit "They Answered the Call."

This exhibit honors the World War II employees of the Glenn L. Martin Company. The exhibit features a photographic essay of the jobs, housing and communities, social activities and the Rosie the Riveter story.

Visitors with connections to the aircraft company are invited to check out the photographs and assist in identifying the Martineers and their children. The Museum is also requesting assistance in identifying names on a thank you bracelet given to an employee by her co-workers upon her departure from the company.
