Mary Kraft Staffing & HR Solutions to Sponsor Hawthorne Elementary School STAR (Students Taking Action Respectfully) Luncheons

Mary Kraft Staffing & HR Solutions will sponsor the Hawthorne Elementary School’s STAR student lunches during the 2014-15 school year. As a Title I school, Hawthorne teachers and staff members work to promote positive behavior and leadership. Each month, a homeroom teacher selects a student that demonstrates the school’s code of conduct – Hawthorne ROCKS Respectful Ownership – whereby students take ownership for their behavior and are motivated to do their best.
“The students are so proud to be chosen as Hawthorne STARs, and they work hard to be selected,” said Yvonne Barhight, principal of Hawthorne Elementary School. “And we are thrilled to have Mary Kraft Staffing show its commitment and generosity to our students.”
After being selected, the child's picture is taken and placed on a bulletin board in the lobby with a description of why they are a STAR student. They receive a certificate of achievement, and their names are published in the monthly newsletter.  A letter is sent to the parents letting them know their child was selected, and then they celebrate with a monthly lunch with the principal. Mary Kraft Staffing employees heard about the program and wanted to provide the monthly lunches.
