Female running-back, Rain Green: Stembridge Colts girl is Verizon's #PlayLikeAGirl Contest Winner!

#BeTough and #PlayLikeAGirl
Rain Green
, who played running back for the  Stembridge Colts football team and was the only girl for the last 4 years, is the winner of the Verizon FiOS #PlayLikeAGirl Video Contest.

Verizon FiOS created the #PlayLikeAGirl Video Contest as a result of the wildly successful #FiOSFootballGirl Commercial Campaign, where the brothers would not let their little sister join in and play football. She eventually landed on television calling football games with known male color-commentators... which sparked a whole new debate in the sports world about the noticeable absence of females calling games. Verizon jumped to the welcomed attention and started a contest. They asked that parents share their daughter's greatest athletic accomplishments from the female athlete's perspective.

The video below was Rain's journey.

As outlined by Verizon's contact with Rain's family "A number of individuals from Verizon judged the entries based on the criteria outlined in the official rules and were impressed with Rain's passion, determination, don't quit attitude and drive to be the best.... from thousands of entries she was the Winner!"

Rain is a multi-sport athlete competing on a National level in basketball ans Track & Field. Rain's entry chronicles the love Rain has for football and how she handled breaking her wrist the week before football practices were to begin through the start of her 2013 football and basketball seasons.
