In addition to our normal
cruises, we decided to have one “bereavement” cruise this summer.
Sunday night, 8-11-2013, was our first one. We will call it our Sunset
Sailing Cruise from now on.
We were so fortunate to meet such
wonderful people on this cruise. Captain George and his wife Lisa have a
beautiful 57′ Hylas sailboat. We enjoyed wine, cheese and crackers,
peach cobbler and new friends. Very special friends. Capt George and
Lisa were undeniably the best host and hostess one could have asked for
on this cruise. We also had Captain Paul with us, who is a wealth of
information, and also has a large sailboat at the Harbor. He has a
heart of gold and has become a good friend to Captains Sharing &
Caring. We sailed out of Hamilton Harbor Marina. We were welcomed with
open arms at the Marina, with unrivaled hospitality. We met some very
very special guests and hope to keep our friendships with them for a
long time. We left the dock about 5:45 and returned around 9:00 pm. We
had a gorgeous view of the sunset, which we will have pictures of, I’m
sure, from our resident photographer; Nicci. We also shared in moments
of remembrance and honor of our beloved children we have lost in our
lifetime, something a parent should never have to do. We tossed flowers
into the waters and with each flower, was a memory. Thank you so very
much to all the folks who participated, and helped make this the first
of more beautiful Sunset Sailing Cruises.
