Transgendered Woman Arrested Following Altercation With Police

Chrissy Polis, who drew national media attention after being attacked in a Rosedale McDonald's, argued with officers after she reported being robbed, police said.

The transgendered woman was arrested Saturday following an altercation with police in Essex.

Chrissy Polis, 23, called police around 7:30 p.m., Saturday to report she had been robbed as she walked toward her apartment on the unit block of Glenwood Road.

According to police reports, Polis told officers a man wearing a black-and-white striped hooded sweatshirt approached her from behind and struck her with an unknown object, tore her purse off and ran toward Glenwood Road. She told police that the purse contained a cell phone and $800.

Police said Polis then gave various accounts of the events surrounding the robbery and became very agitated with police as officers attempted to interview her. After police told Polis they would take a report and continue to investigate the incident, she became enraged and shouted obscenities at officers, according to a police reports.

After warnings to lower her voice, Polis, whom police said was causing a disturbance in the neighborhood, was arrested. She was charged with one count of disorderly conduct and was released after posting $7,500 bond.

Polis was thrust into the spotlight in April after she was attacked by two females at a McDonald’s restauant . There was a video of the altercation that went viral on the Internet.

Teonna Brown for her role in the attack. A 14-year-old in the case was found delinquent in juvenile court on July 1 of charges stemming from the attack on Polis and on , a customer who was assaulted while trying to stop the beating.
