Prep Sports: Eastern Tech Wins Big Over the Weekend

The boys and girls soccer teams advance in region playoffs, while the cheerleading squad captures the Baltimore County championship and the football team wins again.

It was a good weekend to be a part of the athletics program.

Both the boys and girls soccer teams advanced in the regional playoffs, the football team got its second straight win and the cheerleading squad won the Baltimore County championship.

In the Class 3A North region, Eastern Tech topped Digital Harbor, 2-0, Friday in boys soccer to advance to the quarterfinals. The Mavericks will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hereford.

The advanced to the 3A North quarterfinals with a 6-0 win over Parkville. Eastern Tech will now host Towson at 4 p.m. Tuesday at CCBC Essex.

With a win in the county championships, the Eastern Tech cheerleading squad will advance to the regional championship meet on Nov. 10 at New Town.

Finally, the Mavericks improved to 3-5 in football with a 57-43 win over Woodlawn.

Eastern Tech rushed for 540 yards to capture the win, including 193 yards from quarterback Kyle Bosserman and 218 yards on the ground from running back Francis Massally. Each also scored four touchdowns for the Mavericks, who close out the regular season at 7 p.m. Friday against Milford Mill at CCBC Essex.
