You were warned.. Back in the days when they were talking about the MTO The greater baltimore commitee and Better nighborhoods along with people from Vince gardinas office that the people moving into our community from the city would be a welcome addition and we had nothing to worry about . I said then that they would be bringing the crime and socialogical issues with them. That is why I had to move out of hawthorne . It was a great community . clean and everybody watched out for everybody else. I had Family in that area and enjoyed visting and then moving there . After 15 years I had to move . The group that moved in next door would bang on the walls and harrass my dogs , and if I said something it got worse. The police would do nothing when they suggested that Race was the reason for the problem . It breaks my heart if I drive by my old house and see how the community has gone down hill . you can thank Vince, Dutch and the rest of his cronies for what has happend to the area. Remember 509

"What does this have to do with people losing their lives"??? Are you serious, read what he wrote. People have no respect for their neighbors/neighborhoods anymore. These jerks move into nice neighborhoods and turn them completely upside down, and most of them know that there is nothing the police can do unless they are actually caught doing something illegal...and they still, in most cases, just get a slap on the wrist. Making it worse for the home owners that have been there for years, the renters don't give a crap about how they treat/respect their neighbors and the community, they live there for a few months/years, destroy property, make problems for everyone, etc. And then move on to their next temporary housing. "People like you idiots need to be shot for the stuff you post!" Wow! You are an example of pure trash and trust me "all", your information (name/location etc) has been reported and documented. I'm sure that if you used your true idenity...we could all find your lengthy record on the Md. Case Search. Truth hurts, you are just what we are talking about. Sad.

Could not have said it better myself. The people that worked their butts off to pay mortgages and own a nice home in a nice quiet neighborhood are the ones that have to pay for these disrespectful low lifes that have moved in and have no regard for the comunity or the neighbors. How very sad. And yes, shame on Vince and Dutch.

Fred is exactly right! Ali, people who think like you part of the problem! This once, hard working, blue-collar area is now a ghetto, primarily because of the non-working, entitlement hungry, thugs, who thanks to our elected government officials, have been "relocated" here. If you want to see an example, just drive by the Social Service Office in the 400 block of Eastern Blvd and you will see young, healthy adults lined up to get in! Or stop in CVS across the street and try to dodge the "druggies" standing outside doing their "junkie lean" while begging for some money for their next high. It's sad for those who have worked hard all of their lives to raise their families, pay their mortgages, to have to put their homes up for sale in order to find a more civilized area to reside. I realize that people like you, Ali, don't have a clue about this. You have to be raised with a work ethic, respect for yourself, your home and your fellow-man. Integrity--look it up.

Seems like we lost one of the biggest drug dealers // Junkies in our area.....do we consider this a lost or a win ?? This dude has been locked up so many times that he has his own cell waiting for him with his name on it and a prepaid bail bond waiting. What does that tell you this shooting was ????
This is a prime example why we need a Drug Dealer // User Registery as we have with Sex Offenders so we know who these people are and protect our families from them as they are walking targets wherever they go and we do not want to get caught up in the crossfire. So call your local powers to be and demand drug dealer / user registries along with maybe a Spousal Abuse Registry as I am tired of seeing how many spouses are being abused by these abusers and we need to know who these animals are so protect our women and in some cases men from these abusers.

Ever since the hippie generation of the '60s, society has gone downhill. The hippies' free love, drugs and no respect for authority culture has been passed to the next two generation, to their children and their grandchildren.

Had anyone in here noticed the new cheap apartment complex that is being built on RTE 40 near the Noland building eyesore. It is likely that this apartment will bring in more crime. By the way, tear down the Noland building or at least clean the facade of the building.

This man died the way he lived. He apparently did not value his, or anyone else's life. Violence and drugs seemed to be his pastime. There is something seriously wrong with our court system that allows someone with his record to remain on the streets. It's too bad our country doesn't have a "place" where they can send these repeat offenders where they can stay high and assault one another as much as they want, because for some reason, they don't seem to like jail.

It’s mind-boggling how this justice system would let such a drug dealing criminal with a lengthy criminal record off the hook and out of jail numerous times to even be walking the streets. Nothing more than a narcotics dealing liability to society. Oh well, guess that’s one more drug dealer off the streets.

SQUAW ::: This is a PRIME reason why we need more Registries created as we do with the sex offenders. We all know that we have a criminal swinging door and these type walks and walks with very little punishment. If we had Offender Registries like the sex offenders one we would know when these type move into our area's and the police then would have to keep a check on them .

It seems to me that everyone is blaming the victim, but what about the shooter!

Growing up, I had many friends in the area. Still some very committed individuals trying to keep the peace.Seems there are a few who will not respect the neighborhood.Even though the police do the best that they can to control crime, it takes an effort by all who live in the area.I can understand the frustration of the community leaders who do a great job holding meetings to identify ways to make their neighborhood better.Support your community leaders who have the areas best interest in mind.

I grew up in Hawthorne in the late 60s. Shot pool at the bowling alley. My aunt owned waterfront property at the end of Kingston park road and I had many friends as well with waterfront property and friends on Cockspur. Beautiful, well-groomed peaceful area at the time. Then came section 8 housing at the end of Kingston Park road, ruining property values even til this day. Although appraised at one time for $650k, A friend of mine at Kingston Park road can't give his waterfront house away; looks like a ghetto. Then came Move To Opportunity - MTO a euphemism for giving the "disadvantage" an equal footing on the economic scale. Today as we all can see, the social experiment by elected officials (who by the way do not leave there) did not work, will not ever work and always leave, crime, drugs and poverty in it's wake.

Furthermore to hear words like "pimp", "child molester" and "he got what he deserved." Each one of you should be charge with conspiracy to exploit heresy!
In fact I see what this is, Malcolm says it best "if you're not a part of the solution, you are apart of the problem!"
On the otherhand, my cousin didn't deserve to die at the hands of this perpetrator and he certainly does not deserved to have his name disgraced by some agenda seeking, sit at home pointing the finger at someone other than yourself, slanderous individuals. So I know you sleep well at night, but I'm hoping that your latest venture lands you in the same jails that you know you could not one day in.
On that note, may God continue to bless you.

This young father and friend got into trouble just a few times and I gotta say he got caught and payed the penalty. He was not a thug!! He was gentle and kind his troubles came from trying to fit in were he didn't belong. I must say that he was turning his life all the way around. He has children and people who loved him dearly!! You people should watch what you say!!! He was shot leaving his moms house with lunch for work the next day!!! I know this because he was my son....and if your child was in danger he would try to help.
