Local Woman to Appear on 'Ellen'

Laura Keller Jordan, an administrative assistant at CCBC Essex, is one of three winners of a national sweepstakes for Ellen DeGeneres' Mother's Day special.

 

A local woman was one of three winners selected from a national sweepstakes to be a part of The Ellen DeGeneres Show's Mother's Day special.

Laura Keller Jordan, an administrative assistant in the admission’s office at CCBC Essex, along with a friend were flown out to Los Angeles on Wednesday and put up in a hotel before her “appearance” on Ellen, CCBC Essex school spokeswoman Jacquie Lucy said.

Lucy said Jordan entered a sweepstakes entry form on "Ellen's official website and was selected along with other winners from Florida and Texas. Jordan and her friend won all expenses paid airfare, hotel accommodations ground transportation and VIP tickets to an "Ellen" taping that will air at 4 p.m. Friday, May 11 on WBAL-TV.

Lucy said Jordan didn't know what to expect at the taping, which includes guests Hillary Duff, Mariah CareyNick Cannon and super model Molly Simms.

But last year, the show gave away washers and dryers, strollers and $300 Old Navy gift cards, Jordan said in an email.
