i live a block away. I just came in after filling a 30 gallon trash bag with the crap that lazy pigs throw out of their car on to the street. the neighborhood has been filled with renters that dont care about the house they live in, or the people that live near them sad!

Perhaps we can persuade our "esteemed" lawmakers in Annapolis and the county government in Towson to pass laws to make landlords more responsible in the care of their rental properties.

I lived in Middleborough for 49 years, but moved to WV in 1998 because I saw this coming. What a shame to see our old childhood neighborhoods go to scum like this.

If you lived in this neighborhood for 49 years, I would think that you moved to West Virginia because of retirement, not because you saw this coming. I also would think that you have been planning for years to move to WV upon your retirement. Good for you.

chris is right.we use to take pribe in our neighborhood.but a few bad apples has disheartened long time residents.we that try to make it nicer are losing money beacause of destruction and a waste of time and energy.we need to take charge as a whole and get our neighborhood back before the goverment takes it.

If any neighborhood instills pride in itself, that neighborhood would not have these problems. Don't always blame the government.

As if any of you have never done anything wrong. These victims and or the suspects may not have anything to do with Hawthorne. You are right Hawthorne sure ain't Towson, neither of you could afford that. Become part of the solution or move. At least then you'll stop getting on websites taking shots at people whom you believe that you are better than.

What do you think the solution is?

Instilling pride into the neighborhood is the solution. But then that takes time and a lot of work.

Solutions.
1. Limit the number of assisted housing rentals to these areas.
2. Yearly inspections of those limited rental properties
4. Police respond to a rental address 3 times automatic eviction.
5. Get rid of or limit the MTA
6. Stop the nonsense gun laws and enforce the current laws and keep these criminals behind bars. NO PAROLE NO PLEA DEALS

@ Freddy - great ideas but we have to fight the government to get these ideas implemented into laws.

You can instill pride into any neighborhood but when the government dumps section 8 housing in your back yard after you've just paid your house off kinda sends that whole pride thing down the drain.

You were warned.. Back in the days when they were talking about the MTO The greater baltimore commitee and Better nighborhoods along with people from Vince gardinas office that the people moving into our community from the city would be a welcome addition and we had nothing to worry about . I said then that they would be bringing the crime and socialogical issues with them. That is why I had to move out of hawthorne . It was a great community . clean and everybody watched out for everybody else. I had Family in that area and enjoyed visting and then moving there . After 15 years I had to move . The group that moved in next door would bang on the walls and harrass my dogs , and if I said something it got worse. The police would do nothing when they suggested that Race was the reason for the problem . It breaks my heart if I drive by my old house and see how the community has gone down hill . you can thank Vince, Dutch and the rest of his cronies for what has happend to the area. Remember 509
Also I bet Runymede never lived there

Believe it or not but Towson has section 8 housing too, but nowhere near that of Dundalk-Essex-Middle River combined.
In Towson, landlords simply reject any applicant for section 8 housing, out of respect for their neighborhoods. While the landlords in the Dundalk-Essex-Middle River just don't give a hoot.

However terrible, this was most likely not a random shooting. The more government assistance is offered as an alternative to working the more Section 8 houses offered in a neighborhood near you. ALL of you.

Seems like we lost one of the biggest drug dealers // Junkies in our area.....do we consider this a lost or a win ?? This dude has been locked up so many times that he has his own cell waiting for him with his name on it and a prepaid bail bond waiting. What does that tell you this shooting was ????
This is a prime example why we need a Drug Dealer // User Registery as we have with Sex Offenders so we know who these people are and protect our families from them as they are walking targets wherever they go and we do not want to get caught up in the crossfire. So call your local powers to be and demand drug dealer / user registries along with maybe a Spousal Abuse Registry as I am tired of seeing how many spouses are being abused by these abusers and we need to know who these animals are so protect our women and in some cases men from these abusers.

I also live in Middle River area. The MTO and house assistance has greatly altered the Essex area for the worse. My relatives have lived in Hawthorne for years and will tell you first hand how its going to trash. Its a shame!

Three people shot, one killed, two others hospitalized, all in their 20’s. Wow, I’m sure it’s all Narcotics related. One less drug dealer off the streets…

@Squaw-1 you are a poor excuse of whatever you are. Your comment is distastful and disrespectful. Robert had a family just as you do and for you to somehow make it seem like his death is for the best is shameful. A man lost his life yesterday. A mother lost her son and a daughter lost her father.

@ C Baker. It's nice to see that your and advocate and promote the dealing of narcotics. I suppose you consider a drug dealer a positive influence on society. Sounds like he was a true role model for his daughter and I'm sure his mother was very proud of him for being such a successful drug dealer. We all know when people get involved in criminal behavior, violence and fatalities occur, so why are you so surprised and quick to support drug dealers. When criminals enter the drug arena, they put their life on the line. Robert chose to be a drug dealer, maybe Robert should have thought about his that.
