Essex Man Held in Early Morning Arsons

Justin Karmasek is currently being held without bail.

Police have arrested an Essex man in connection with several alleged arsons early Friday morning.

Justin Karmasek, 22, of the 900 block of North Marlyn Avenue is charged with one count of first-degree arson, three counts of second-degree arson, two counts of drug posession, two counts of theft valued at less than $100, one count of burglary and one count of fourth-degree theft. 

Police say that at 4:11 a.m. Friday morning, officers and fire crews found a fire set in a carport in the 100 block of Wiltshire Road, and a car and nearby attached garage on fire at a vacant home in the 100 block of Riverside Road.

Karmasek was arrested at the scene, according to police. He is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson.
