Essex Crime: Juveniles Break into House to Do Drugs

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Eight juvenile, all between the ages of 12-14, were arrested April 14 for allegedly breaking into a vacant home in order to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol.

According to police reports, officers arrived at a home on the unit block of Shawgo Court around 4:30 p.m. after an anonymous person reported seeing people breaking into the home.

Inside the house, officers allegedly discovered marijuana and related paraphanalia, according to the report. All of the juveniles arrested were charged with burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous substance before being released into the custody of their parents and/or guardian.

Waters Watch Court, 400 block, between 4 p.m. April 15 and 3:30 p.m. April 16: A generator, various tools and four fishing rods were stolen after someone cut a lock to a shed. Total loss: $1,280

Cedar Creek Road, 1000 block, between 11:30 p.m. April 15 and 6:30 a.m. April 16: An ATV was stolen after someone broke into a shed. Total loss: $3,000.

Bowleys Quarters Road, 1700 block, between noon March 29 and 2:15 p.m. April 12: A diesel engine, throttle controls, ignition panel, steering wheel, GPS unit, stove, VHF radio and stereo system were stolen from a sailboat dry docked at Bowleys Marina. Total loss: $3,200.

Salvatore Way, 800 block, between 6:25 p.m. April 10 and 6:50 a.m. April 12: An air conditioning unit, piping and wire were stolen from a home under construction. Total loss: $1,600.

Bird River Road, 10600 block, between 11 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. April 10: Jewelry, a coin collection and cash were stolen from a home after someone broke a side door to enter the residence.
