CCBC Essex in Search of Peeping Tom

Two women have reported a man peeking under their stalls while using campus restrooms.

Public safety officials at the Community College of Baltimore County Essex are searching for a peeping tom who has allegedly targeted at least two women on campus.

College spokeswoman Hope Davis said the incidents occurred March 26 in Building A and on April 20 in Building B. In both cases, the victims reported to CCBC public safety officers that someone tried to peek under their stalls while they used a campus restroom.

Davis said the victim in the most recent incident described the suspect as a tall, thin black male with a beard, who wore black, square-framed glasses.

Davis said officials are encouraging women to go to the restroom in pairs, with one of them serving as a lookout. Anyone on any of the CCBC campuses can also report suspicious activity by calling 443-840-1111.

There are also blue emergency lights stationed throughout CCBC campuses, as well as a service that offers students escorts while walking to their cars, Davis said.

"The most important thing to remember is to always be aware of your surroundings," Davis said.
